Yesterday we shared the video of Lefteris Theofanidis completing 20.1 in 8:05, the fastest time in the world on the men’s side.
And while Theofanidis’ time was impressive, it was not as fast as Emma McQuaid’s time. McQuaid stands atop the women’s leaderboard with a time of 7:41.
McQuaid was the only athlete, men and women, to break the 8-minute barrier. She finished 20 seconds faster than Sam Briggs’ time of 8:01. Watch McQuaid’s video below:

McQuaid is coming of her first appearance at the CrossFit Games. McQuaid was in the hunt to qualify to the Games the last three years of Regionals, but finally broke through as the National Champion of Ireland in 2019. McQuaid went on to finish 20th at the Games (she technically finished 21, but will move up once Fragkou’s placement is disqualified).
