CrossFit has announced its first sanction from the 2026 CrossFit Games. Wayne O’Hara has received a four-year sanction after testing positive for exogenous testosterone and its metabolites during a recent drug test conducted by CrossFit.
O’Hara placed 2nd overall in the men’s 65-69 year-old division at this year’s Games. It was his second consecutive CrossFit Games appearance. Last year he took 18th in the same division.
O’Hara qualified to the CrossFit Games via the Magic City Semifinals. O’Hara earned the one and only qualifying spot via a tiebreak over Jeffrey Christy.
Now, just four months off his win at the Magic City Semifinals and 2nd place finish at the Masters CrossFit Games, O’Hara has been sanctioned for violating the drug testing policy.
The sanction will run from August 24, 2026 through August 24, 2030. During that time O’Hara will be prohibited from participating in any CrossFit-sanctioned competitions.
As for O’Hara’s second place finish at the Games, it is unclear if the test was conducted at the CrossFit Games or a month later. Because of this it is not currently known whether his 2nd place finish at the Games will be rescinded.
If it is, Mike Navarre would move up to 2nd place and Konrad Kaufmann would take 3rd place overall.
