Add the West Coast CrossFit Classic (WCCC) to the list of Sanctionals using the 2020 CrossFit Open as its online qualifier. The WCCC is not until March 2020, but athletes will qualify for the California-based Sanctional this October/November.
In a reply to a question about an online qualifier on Instagram, the WCCC said, “We’ll use the CrossFit Open as our qualifier. We’ll share more info as soon as possible!”
The WCCC joins 10 other Sanctionals that have already stated the Open workouts (and timing) will be used as this year’s online qualifier. Here is the list of Sanctionals that have confirmed the Open will be used:
- Australian CrossFit Championship
- Brazil CrossFit Championship
- CrossFit Fittest in Cape Town
- CrossFit French Throwdown
- CrossFit Mayhem Classic
- CrossFit Strength in Depth
- Down Under CrossFit Championship
- Dubai CrossFit Championship
- Norwegian CrossFit Championship
- Reykjavik CrossFit Championship
- West Coast CrossFit Championship
There are still several Sanctionals that have yet to announce how athletes will qualify for their event. Stay tuned to The Barbell Spin as we bring you end-to-end coverage of the 2020 CrossFit Games season.
