It’s July 4th! And while Joey Chestnut is eating 70+ hot dogs on Coney Island, there is a good chance Dave Castro is planning how he is going to reveal the first hint of the 2018 CrossFit Games. For the past three years Castro has shared an event of the upcoming CrossFit Games.
In 2015 and 2016 it was Murph. Last year it was the Run-Swim-Run.

Castro has already said that this year will be the hardest Day 1 in the history of the CrossFit Games. There have been plenty memorable “Day 1’s” in Games history – from the Pendleton Triathlon to flying to The Ranch in 2016.
For the most part, Day 1 has featured the “long” event (which we chronicled earlier this week). So what does this mean for 2018? Could we see a triathlon in the streets of Madison? Or maybe a Spartan Race in Quann Park? Or could it be something completely different?
Based on one of Castro’s recent Instagram stories, it would not be surprising if it was a longer run. He is seen measuring a distance on a road while riding his skateboard.

Hopefully we won’t have to wait much longer. Stay tuned to The Barbell Spin for all the breaking news.
