Ben Bergeron to Retire from Coaching After This Season; Cole Sager to Take the Reins

After spending 15 years helping athletes unlock their potential in the sport of CrossFit, Ben Bergeron is retiring from coaching elite athletes at the CrossFit Games after this season. Bergeron, founder of CompTrain, will be stepping down from his coaching role and refocusing his time and effort into the launch of CompTrain 3.0.

“I’ve been blessed to have been part of the athletic development of some of the best athletes on the planet and watched our sport grow from its infancy to the incredible arena it is today. It’s always been my belief that the success of those athletes we took to podiums and wins was built on the foundation of mindset and resilience that are built through hard physical training,” said Ben Bergeron, CEO of CompTrain.

“Those are lessons anyone can learn and apply to themselves. I believe the greatest impact I can have now as a coach is taking those lessons and applying them to developing our CompTrain Tribe into a global force of the most resilient humans on planet earth.”

Stepping into the Elite Athlete Head Coach role will be 10-time CrossFit Games veteran, Cole Sager. An athlete under Bergeron and CompTrain for years, Sager will continue the impart knowledge and share the years of expertise training for the CrossFit Games with other athletes looking to compete at the highest level.

Sager, however, will not be retiring from competition. Instead, he will wear two hats – that of an athlete and that of a coach.

As for Bergeron and the launch of CompTrain 3.0, the new app will offer more programming as well as a free 30-minute time track. For those looking for more, there will be paid versions from 60-minute daily programming, two hours and the full competitor version that features three hours of programming.

CompTrain 3.0 will include detailed, customized coaching videos for all sessions along with stimulus intention and a game plan to attack each workout. A global leaderboard will be available as well as the ability to log all times, weights and scores with PR tracking.

CompTrain 3.0 will cost $39.99/month with reduced rates by signing up for a six month or one-year commitment. Visit the CompTrain website now to register for access to the free public beta and experience first-hand CompTrain3.0
