Yes, you read that headline correctly. Based on the recent CrossFit podcast with Mat Fraser, the topic of moving to Cookeville, Tennessee came up. Sevan Matossian asked Mat, “Are you moving to Cookeville?”
Fraser laughed saying that Matossian went straight to it. Matossian followed by asking what’s attractive about it. Fraser’s response? “Taxes, bro.”
The discussion continued with Fraser talking about the six states that don’t have state income taxes, Tennessee being one of them. And after some discussions with some tax accountants, Fraser and his girlfriend, Sammy Moniz, decided that Tennessee might be the right state for them.
So it is a real possibility that the reigning Fittest Man on Earth moves to the same town as the winningest CrossFit Games athlete, Rich Froning. And on whether the two might train together, Fraser said that Froning told him to “come on down.”

Fraser did say that he plans to keep a second residence in Vermont, but depending on where Fraser trains in the winter (likely Tennessee), it could mean that the Central Regional gets a little tougher. Stay tuned!
