Last June it was revealed that Amazon was bringing back American Gladiators. On top of that, CrossFit Games athlete Dani Speegle was cast to be one of the Gladiators.
Well, yesterday Amazon announced that April 17 is the date of the official launch of the reboot of the classic 90’s series.
There will be seven episodes with the first three available beginning on April 17 on Amazon Prime. The final four episodes will launch on May 1.
Contenders will battle it out for a $100,000 cash prize, but maybe more importantly, the title of American Gladiator Champion.
And speaking of the contenders, Bailey Meraviglia appears to be one of the contenders. This morning she posted on Instagram with the caption, “The arena is callings…and I answered.” The photo shows her in an American Gladiators hoodie.
Meraviglia has competed on a team at the 2015 & 2016 CrossFit Games. She also has competed in three individual Semifinals the past five years. On top of that, Meraviglia owns Stroud CrossFit.
And going back to Dani Speegle…we still don’t know what her official Gladiator name will be. Any guesses?
