Earlier this year HYROX began testing a new series for children aged 8-15. Dubbed HYROX Youngstars, the race is an age-adapted version of HYROX. Now, five month after a successful pilot program, HYROX has confirmed that HYROX Youngstars will be a permanent addition moving forward.
The concept officially debuted in Amsterdam in January 2026, where it drew over 1,500 young athletes to compete on a specially designed course. The momentum quickly carried over to the series’ second event in London this past March, which saw participation surge by 20% to welcome more than 1,800 youth competitors.
Data from the events suggests the new racing format is successfully tapping into existing athletic communities and driving family-wide participation. At the recent London event, 22% of the young racers had a parent actively competing at the concurrent HYROX London Olympia.
The next HYROX Youngstars event will be in Berlin this May followed by the HYROX World Championships in Stockholm this June where there will be dedicated on-site activations to introduce this age group to the sport.
“Our mission has always been to create a sport for everybody, and HYROX Youngstars is a natural extension of that vision. This is about the future of fitness racing – creating an environment that inspires young people to get active and take part in a sport that supports both physical and mental development,” shared Moritz Fürste, Co-Founder and Chief Marketing Officer at HYROX. “Both my daughters took part in Amsterdam, which was incredible to see and they absolutely loved it!”.
Tickets for HYROX Youngstars are available on the HYROX website.
