For those who might not be following closely. At the athlete meeting on Thursday of the CrossFit Games following Lazar Đukić’s death, Laura Horvath and her brother, Kristóf Horváth walked out with several other athletes, including Gabi. Kristóf and Gabi were dating at the time. It’s not been made official but there’s no way Gabi and Kristóf are still together.
Laura and Kristóf’s team would ultimately withdraw from the 2024 CrossFit Games. Gabi did not. Gabi continued to compete and finished in 2nd place, her best finish ever at the Games.
It is rumored that Laura and Kristóf left Ft. Worth after they withdrew.
Ben Smith, who was Laura and Gabi’s coach, stayed and continued to coach Gabi through the Games. Now, Gabi has stayed stateside and has been training full-time at Ben’s gym, CrossFit Krypton while Laura and Kristóf have returned to Hungary.
So, what do you think? Is there beef between the former training partners? The Rogue Invitational is just 17 days away and it’s likely the first time the two have been face-to-face since the Games. It’s sure to be an interesting show.
