The Tactical Games is a competition that merges firearms skill and fitness. The competition is designed to “test the skills, readiness, and mental toughness” through a series of combat-related tasks and fitness challenges. This past weekend, athletes competed at The Tactical Games Kansas 2022 Regional Event.
In the men’s elite division, former CrossFit Games athlete Jacob Heppner took first place. The competition featured various axle bar carries, bar-facing burpees, sandbag cleans over a bar, running both long and short distances and, of course, shooting with various firearms.
Heppner’s ability to get through the fitness events portion of the competition is unquestionably elite, combining it with shooting accuracy makes things much trickier. But Heppner has been an avid gun owner and has fine-tuned his skills over the years. And this weekend he demonstrated that ability on his way to take the Elite Men’s title.
The 2022 Tactical Games National Championship is November 4-6 in Burnet, TX where we expect to see Heppner vie for the top spot.
