Over the weekend, Kristi O’Connell ran in the Columbus Marathon in Columbus, Ohio. Just two months from competing in her 7th CrossFit Games, O’Connell completed the 26.2 miles in 3 hours, 4 minutes and 44 seconds. O’Connell did this after shifting her training after the Games and spent the last six weeks working towards competing this past weekend.
For those doing the math, that is an average mile pace of 7:04. O’Connell’s time was good enough for 16th place out of 895 females and 3rd in the female 30-34 age group. Not only that, she finished 168th out of all men and women competing.
Throughout the race, O’Connell held a consistent pace and was able to increase her speed as the miles ticked away. Check out her detailed results by segment:
But while her time is simply amazing, it was actually a PR. O’Connell’s fastest marathon time before this weekend was 3:10…set before she started CrossFit!
