Mat Fraser Makes Appearance on NBC’s Today Show

Mat Fraser earned his 4th consecutive CrossFit Games title last month, tying Rich Froning for the most in CrossFit Games history. Yesterday, Fraser made the trek to New York City for a segment on NBC’s Today Show.

Over the course of the four-minute segment, Fraser is asked how he trains to be the Fittest Man on Earth. Fraser responded by saying it was the things outside the gym that ultimately took him to the next level. Fraser said sleep, nutrition and mental health were critical.

For sleep, Fraser said he now gets between 9-10 hours of sleep each night.

To wrap up the segment, Fraser goes through three movements – rowing, dumbbell snatches and burpees. Fraser said that he spent a lot of time on the Concept2 rower to build his endurance and stamina.

For the dumbbell snatches, Fraser attempts to help the host get the movement down, but it is painfully clear he has never done that movement before.
