Nike is dropping the next generation of its Metcon line with the Nike Metcon DSX Flyknit 2 on Friday, December 1. Nike sponsored athletes have been promoting the lightweight training shoe on social media in advance of the launch. You can grab a pair on Friday from Nike.com as well as select retailers.
The lightweight shoe, just 11.9 ounces, features the same Flyknit upper, albeit with a slightly altered pattern. The Flyknit does have a new high-tenacity yarn that should hold up well in CrossFit workouts.
The appearance of the heel cup resembles that of the Nike Metcon 3 while the elastic cuff is said to keep the heel in place during dynamic movements.
Right now, it appears the first two men’s colorways will be an all-black look, dubbed Triple Black, and a black/gray/white version called Metamorphic. We have not seen official colorways for the women’s shoes, but Kara Webb appears to be training with the Metamorphic colorway.
Here’s a look at the Nike Metcon DSX Flyknit 2’s…
