Three weeks ago Sasha Nievas and her boyfriend Esteban Ospina shared that Nievas was pregnant. This weekend the couple had a gender reveal party…and they are having a girl.
Nievas and Ospina were on the CrossFit Complex Wodex team that finished 3rd at the North America West CrossFit Semifinal this past May. As a result, the team had qualified for the 2024 CrossFit Games.
However, those dreams were dashed when their teammate, Carla Cornejo Plascencia, failed a test drug. Their team was then disqualified from competing in Ft. Worth.
Now, several months later, Nievas and Ospina are following a new dream.
Nievas has competed twice at the CrossFit Games. Once as an individual in 2021 and once on a team in 2022. It would have been Ospina’s first appearance at the CrossFit Games prior to Cornejo’s sanction and resulting disqualification.
