Two weeks ago, Camzin Ashcroft suffered a serious spinal injury when the carabiners snapped while working on ring muscle-ups. Camzin was rushed to the hospital and found to have fractured her neck at the C6 and C7.
Camzin was flown to a nearby hospital via helicopter where she underwent emergency surgery that would take approximately six hours. Luckily, surgery went well, but there is still a long road ahead of Camzin. Despite the successful surgery, her left leg remains mostly paralyzed.
After spending a week in ICU, she is now in an inpatient rehabilitation facility working through physical and occupational therapy.
As you might expect, the Ashcroft family is now facing medical and life modifying expenses as they navigate through Camzin’s recovery.
To help with those expenses, Mahmoud Elzayat from CrossFit Greater Heights has set up a fundraiser. In the Ashcroft garage gym, they have “WE DO HARD THINGS” painted on the wall. And that’s what is emblazoned on the fundraiser t-shirt now available.
All proceeds will go directly to the Ashcroft family. You can buy a t-shirt here.
Camzin Ashcroft competed at the 2025 TFX Invitational, one of last year’s In-Person Qualifying Events of the CrossFit Games season. She placed 19th. She also ended up 127th in the In-Affiliate Semifinals.
