Tips & Tricks to Pass the CrossFit Level 3 Test

Did you know there are two “paths” to get your CrossFit Level 3 certification?

Path 1, and the most common path, requires a current CrossFit Level 2 Trainer certificate and 375 hours of coaching CrossFit. Path 2 requires 1,000 hours of strength and conditioning coaching at the collegiate or professional level. In both cases, the coaching hours must be accumulated in the past five years.

So let’s say you are looking to get your CrossFit Level 3, Rodrick Lopez (you might know him as the meme guy) and Zach Kaddatz, creator of @DailyTrainingTip on Instagram, sat down to share their experience of studying for and taking the Level 3 test.

Kaddatz went all-in after getting his L2, he re-read the L1 and L2 handbooks, read and watched everything CrossFit had ever published with respect to training and also took all of the online courses on crossfit.com.

Lopez said he read every article from the CrossFit Journal. He also said you just need to be addicted to figuring everything out from a coaching perspective…and then researching to understand those questions.
