After walking back and forth across the gym doing overhead lunges last week, Dave Castro took us to a garage gym in North Carolina to announce 16.2 with Dan Bailey and Bjorvin Gudmondsson ready to attack the workout minutes after the announcement. Like last week, no one predicted the workout (surprise!).

During the workout, both athletes cruised through the reps and made it to the last round of the workout. Bailey finished his last clean with 11 seconds remaining. However, both Bailey and his judge miscounted the reps during the 275-pound squat cleans. Bailey only did 8 reps before moving on to the next round. Due to the error, Bailey’s score will not count.

Gudmondsson finished with 428 reps, two shy of completing the final seven squat cleans.

16.2 (Open Division Rx)
Beginning on a 4-minute clock, complete as many reps as possible of:
25 toes-to-bars
50 double-unders
15 squat cleans, 135 / 85 lb.

If completed before 4 minutes, add 4 minutes to the clock and proceed to:
25 toes-to-bars
50 double-unders
13 squat cleans, 185 / 115 lb.

If completed before 8 minutes, add 4 minutes to the clock and proceed to:
25 toes-to-bars
50 double-unders
11 squat cleans, 225 / 145 lb.

If completed before 12 minutes, add 4 minutes to the clock and proceed to:
25 toes-to-bars
50 double-unders
9 squat cleans, 275 / 175 lb.

If completed before 16 minutes, add 4 minutes to the clock and proceed to:
25 toes-to-bars
50 double-unders
7 squat cleans, 315 / 205 lb.

Stop at 20 minutes.
