Elijah Muhammad will be competing out of a different region for the 2018 CrossFit Open. The 2018 season will be Muhammad’s 7th year competing and it will also be fourth different region the CrossFit Games veteran will compete out of during the Open.
Muhammad will be competing out of the North Central region in 2018 after moving his gym, CrossFit Unorthodox, to Iowa. The newly moved gym (previously in Las Vegas, Nevada) will open November 15 in Windsor Heights, Iowa, a suburb near Des Moines.
The move to the North Central region also means that we could see Muhammad return to compete his former Open competitors from the Central East region at the Central Regional. That is, if the 2018 regional format doesn’t change.
Here’s a look at Muhammad’s journey across the country over the years.
