Lucas Parker Withdraws from East Regional

For the first time in six years, Lucas Parker will not be competing at the CrossFit Games. Parker withdrew from the East Regional after Day 1.

Parker started off on Event 1 with a disappointing 38th place finish in which he was later helped off the floor by CrossFit’s medical staff. Parker returned for Event 2, but was unable to be competitive taking 29th.

On Saturday morning, Parker had withdrawn from the competition. So far there has been no statement as to why Parker made the decision to not compete on Saturday [UPDATE: Parker has shared why he withdrew in a Facebook post]. In the past, Parker has been very open about his experiences and thoughts following competitions so we may get an answer soon.

Parker is one of seven male athletes at the East Regional to withdraw from the competition. Five of the seven withdrawals came from pec tears resulting from Event 2. Albert-Dominic Larouche withdrew due a recurring back and hip injury.
