Greg Glassman’s CrossFit Media Decsion – Would he do it again?

“No, I would do that again,” responded Greg Glassman to the question of whether he would do things different in late 2018 when he fired most of CrossFit’s media team.

Glassman also weighs in on Sean Woodland (aka Sean Woodlick) and Tommy Marquez. “I spent enough money on them and their show that I, unfair to them, convinced them they had talents they do not have. I can spend enough money that you can think you’re really talented and I just didn’t want to do it anymore and their current work and output, I think, suggests that I was right.”

Oof.

Glassman quickly shifts to when groups were interested in purchasing the CrossFit Games. Glassman shared, “Just about every venture capital group you could imagine…they all came running for CrossFit [because] they are going to sell something and then they’d look at the books.” He added, “It’s funny to me that they [the venture capital firms] were smart enough to realize that it [CrossFit Games] doesn’t make any money and it’s not something you want to buy.”

But that, “I had trouble convincing my own staff that.”
