Maddy Myers broke her own Junior American Clean & Jerk Record yesterday at the 2017 IWF Junior World Championships in Tokyo, Japan. Myers, competing in the 63kg weight category, clean and jerked 122kg (268 pounds) to better her existing record by 2kg.

Before breaking her record, Myers snatched 91kg. Her 213kg total was also a new Junior American Total Record. Myers also owned that record, which used to be 209kg.

Myers would end up taking 4th overall after losing the tiebreaker under the new tiebreak format implemented in 2017.

Myers also competes in CrossFit and just missed qualifying for the 2017 CrossFit Games by one place. She still has the opportunity to join her team, CrossFit Invictus, at the Games.
