Ellie Turner Will Need Visa to Compete at Rogue Invitational

The Rogue Invitational is less than a month away. The three-day competition in Austin, Texas, begins October 28. For Ellie Turner, the next few weeks will be a bit nerve wracking.

Turner is currently living in Squamish, British Columbia, Canada, just north of Vancouver. Turner, originally from Australia, has been living in Canada for about a month as she works through obtaining a longer term visa.

The problem is, though, that she cannot re-enter the United States until her visa application is processed and approved. While on the Sevan Podcast, Turner shared that she has an interview as part of the visa application process in the next couple weeks. From there, she expects a decision from the US Customs office within a week on whether her application is approved.

That timing is cutting it close to make it down to Austin to compete at the Rogue Invitational. However, Turner is remaining positive and told Sevan, “I’m going to be there.”

Watch Turner and Sevan talk about how close it will be between getting her visa approved and competing at the Rogue Invitational. (Don’t worry, we’ve linked to the start of the conversation).

Turner is coming off her second CrossFit Games appearance last month where she finished 18th overall. This off-season, Turner will be competing at the Rogue Invitational in October and then heading back to Australia to compete at the Down Under Championship on a team with Tia-Clair Toomey and Brooke Wells.
