This year at the Rogue Invitational athletes were weighed at check-in. Those weigh-ins were used to determine the amount each athlete had to bench press during Event 4, The Crux.Â
The men’s weight for the bench press was equal to their bodyweight while 75% of the women’s bodyweight was used for the bench press.
Of course, this allows us to find out the actual weight of the athletes. Previously, the only data point on this metric was the CrossFit Games website. However, it was up to athletes to fill this in and in many instances it was an outdated metric.
So…I went back and rewatched The Crux and recorded the bench press weight for every athlete. You’re welcome.
One thing to note, the women used a men’s bar for the bench press. Oh, and the weights are based on what was loaded on the barbell. However, the weight was rounded down for the bench press.Â

BODYWEIGHT CORRELATION TO LEADERBOARD
If you saw my earlier article today where I looked at event correlation to the overall placement on the leaderboard, you know where this is going.
I mapped out the weight of each athlete and graphed it to see if there was a clear trend line showing that the heavier athletes did better at Rogue this year.
And if you guessed there was…you are correct.

The top 7 men were 200 pounds or heavier. The top 7 women were more distributed across different weights, but all three of the female podium finishers weighted at least 160 pounds.
