Karin Freyova and Uldis Upenieks won the 2024 Picsil Pamplona Arena Games in Pamplona, Spain, this past weekend. The two CrossFit Games veterans came out on top after three days and eight scored events.
On the women’s side Karin Freyova continued her off-season dominance in Europe. Freyova won five of the eight events and never finished worse than 3rd in a single event. She finished with 12 points, well ahead of Elena Carratala Sanahuja who took 2nd place overall.
For Freyova, this was her third individual win this off-season following her 14th place finish at the 2023 CrossFit Games. Freyova won the Madrid Championship, Dubai Fitness Championship and now the Picsil Pamplona Arena Games. Add in a win at the 2023 French Throwdown in the lead-up to the CrossFit Games and her team win at the Grove Games and Freyova has done will over the past 12 months.

While Karin Freyova won wire-to-wire, the men’s race was much closer. In fact, Aniol Ekai led he entire competition until the final event when Uldis Upenieks pulled off the comeback. Once the scores were tallied, Upenieks and Ekai were tied at 32 points. However, Upenieks won the tiebreaker. Both Ekai and Upenieks had two event wins, but Upenieks had two 2nd place finishes while Ekai only had one.
