Mal O’Brien is taking to the competition floor once again this weekend, but this time it will be at a HYROX competition. The HYROX Houston race is on Saturday and O’Brien will competing in the Mixed Doubles division.
Mal’s partner is her agent, Cooper Marsh on the official HYROX Houston start list. O’Brien and Marsh are scheduled in the 9:30am startwave on Saturday.

It will be the first time O’Brien has been in a competition since she withdrew from the CrossFit Games season last year. Earlier this year, O’Brien shared that she was not going to compete in 2024, but left it open whether she would return.
O’Brien, however, is not the only “former” CrossFit athlete competing in Houston this weekend. Kristi (Eramo) O’Connell and her husband, Patrick, are competing in the HYROX PRO individual division.
HYROX Houston will held at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston, TX.
