Teams descended upon Spartanburg, South Carolina, once again for Crash Crescendo. The team competition hosted by J.R. Howell at his gym, CrossFit Crash, featured an elite MMFF team competition along with three divisions of same-sex four-athlete teams.
Of the 11 teams competing in the elite team division, five will be competing at Syndicate Crown for the North America East Semifinal along with three-fourths of The Grit Haus team that was disqualified for breaking a rule during the CrossFit Open.
Crash Crescendo has been used by teams in previous years to get competition experience heading into Semifinals. Last year, Christian Harris’ Move Fast Lift Heavy 247 team won Crash Crescendo before going to the 2023 CrossFit Games and finishing 3rd overall.
This year, the Angelo DiCicco-led Mayhem Independence team made the trek to South Carolina to compete and ended up with the victory. Mayhem Independence finished with two event victories, three 2nd place finishes and one fourth place event finish. They would hold off The Grit Haus by just 10 points.
The third place team, Lets See What Happens, was comprised of a non-Semifinals bound team. Evan Rogers, Caroline Stanley, Tristan Faure and Brynn Carrick teamed up to fill the final podium spot.
CrossFit Reignited, Ocean State and CrossFit Mayhem Liberty, all headed to Semifinals finished in 4th, 5th and 6th place, respectively.
