James Sprague hosted the inaugural MODE Classic this past weekend in Spokane, Washington. The competition featured an Elite and RX division, each with 20 men and 20 women. At the end of the two-day, six event, competition, Miley Wade and Josh Felix stood atop the Elite podium.
Wade only one one event, Ice Breaker, but was consistently near the top of the leaderboard for each event. Her worst finish was 4th in End Game. No other female athlete in the elite division had that consistency.
Trista Smith and Jessica Androsik finished 2nd and 3rd, respectively.
For Wade, 2026 will be the first official year that she will compete in the Open division of the CrossFit Games. She competed the last three years at the Teenage CrossFit Games, winning the 16-17 year-old girls division in 2025.
But while she was on her way to winning the Teenage CrossFit Games, Wade also competed at several In-Person Qualifying Events in 2025.
Wade took 8th overall at the 2025 Syndicate Crown and followed that up a week later with a 14th place finish at the NorCal Classic. On top of that Wade won the RX division at the 2025 TYR Wodapalooza and finished 4th in the Challenger division of the WFP Tour Stop 1 in Indianapolis.
On the men’s side, Josh Felix dominated the elite division, racking up four event wins. Felix would end up with 13 total points (Open scoring), well ahead of Jace Peck who finished in 2nd place with 39 points. Jordan Bailey rounded out the podium in 3rd place.
