Just minutes after I reported that Jammie Booker, a transgender woman, won the 2025 Official Strongman Games World Championships this weekend, the organizer put out a statement that they have disqualified Booker.
As such, Andrea Thompson has now been crowned the 2025 World’s Strongest Woman.
In the statement by OSM, they confirm they were unaware that Booker had been born a biological male prior to the competition. Organizers began investigating the situation once they were informed. However, during this investigation, attempts to contact Jammie Booker have gone unanswered.
OSM’s policy is that athletes can only compete in the category for the biological sex recorded at birth. They also acknowledge that if they had been aware of the situation before the competition that Booker would not have been permitted to compete in the women’s division.
Following the conclusion of OSM’s investigation, Jammie Booker has been disqualified from the Official Strongman World Championships. All points and places will be adjusted without Booker’s scores to ensure the rightful places are allocated to the remaining athletes.
While it does not appear that those calculations have been finalized, Andrea Thompson will likely be crowned the 2025 World’s Strongest Woman.
