The 2019 International Weightlifting Federation (IWF) World Championships are underway in Pattaya, Thailand. The best Olympic Weightlifters in the world will be hitting the platform through September 27.
One of those athletes is the 10th place finisher of the 2019 CrossFit Games, Thuri Helgadottir. Competing for Iceland, Helgadottir will compete in the 59kg weight category in the D session. Helgadottir’s sesson is Friday at 10am local time.
For those watching in the United States that is tonight (Thursday) at 11pm Eastern. For those watching in Iceland, the session begins Friday morning at 3am.
Last week Helgadottir shared on Instagram that her shoulder has been bothering her for a while. Helgadottir, now in Thailand, was snatching in the training hall for the first time in three weeks.

Helgadottir is coming off her best finish at the CrossFit Games where she finished 10th overall. During the competition, Helgadottir cleaned 215-pounds (98kg) during the Clean event.
