Organizers of TYR Wodapalooza SoCal have announced that any swim or swim-related elements in this year’s programming have been removed in light of Lazar Djukic’s passing at the 2024 CrossFit Games. TYR Wodapalooza’s Miami competition is known for it’s swim events in the water next to Bayfront Park and many were anticipating the same for the upcoming SoCal competition in Huntington Beach, California.
But after this past week, TYR Wodapalooza SoCal organizers have revised their plans for next month’s competition. The programming change will apply to all divisions, from elite to the community divisions.
The 2024 TYR Wodapalooza SoCal will take place over three days from September 20-22 in Huntington Beach, California. The elite competition has been structured differently for the SoCal event with a two-team format featuring athletes from North America and the World. Lazar Djukic was one of the athletes slated to compete on Team World.
