Will Moorad joined the Coffee Pods and Wods podcast this afternoon. Most of the focus was spent on the World Fitness Project, as expected, including the upcoming WFP Finals this December. During that discussion, Moorad shared the event schedule for the four-day Finals.
The WFP Finals are in Copenhagen, Denmark on December 18-21, but the first event will actually be in Helsingborg, Sweden. From there, athletes will return to the Bella Arena in Copenhagen.
There will be nine events throughout the weekend and will scheduled as follows:
December 18 (Thursday): 2 events – Swim + one more event
December 19 (Friday): 2 events – Project 1 + one more event
December 20 (Saturday): 3 events
December 21 (Sunday): 2 events
Here’s the clip of Moorad discussing the daily event schedule for the Finals…
The swim will be inside at the Fiborna Arena Swimming Hall in Helsingborg. Athletes will be shuttled via bus for that first event on Thursday morning. Once completed, athletes will get shuttled back to Denmark for an event later that day.
The next morning athletes will partake in Project 1. For those unfamiliar with Project 1, it is the WFP’s “signature hybrid competition” that spectators can take part in at the WFP Tour Stop events. It is a mix of running, rowing, biking, skiing with fitness stations. Typically, a sandbag has been used. So in other words…it’s kinda like HYROX.
Project 1 will likely be the “long” (or endurance) event for the weekend.
The other seven events have not yet been announced.
