In just under an hour the CrossFit Individual In-Affiliate Semifinals will be officially underway. The top 1% of athletes in the world from the 2025 CrossFit Open can complete five workouts at a CrossFit affiliate in an attempt to qualify for the CrossFit Games. But as the athletes take on Heavy Isabel, two notable names will not be on the leaderboard.
The top 11 men and top 11 women in the world will qualify to the CrossFit Games via the In-Affiliate Semifinals.
Alex Gazan and Emily Rolfe have elected to skip the In-Affiliate Semifinals and will instead focus on a future In-Person Qualifying Event.

Emily Rolfe shared a story on Instagram yesterday afternoon with a photo of Neymar Jr. The photo’s caption read, “1% chance, 99% faith”.
Rolfe then added, “Next up @worldfitnessproject”, thereby suggesting that she will not take part in the In-Affiliate Semifinals. Rolfe has confirmed that she will, however, be at the TFX Invitational in Oklahoma City on May 16-18, just one week after Tour Event 1 of the World Fitness Project.
Rolfe already competed at the Mayhem Classic, the first IPQE of the season. Rolfe finished in 3rd place, just five points out of qualifying for the CrossFit Games.
As for Gazan, the Underdogs Athletics athlete, she confirmed with John Young on last night’s THE SPIN that she will forego the In-Affiliate Semifinals.
You can watch that clip below.
Gazan is also part of the WFP and will be competing in Indianapolis, Indiana, for Tour Event 1 next weekend. It has not yet been confirmed whether Gazan will be at the TFX Invitational the following weekend.
Both women, however, have received special invites to compete at the NorCal Classic on June 6-8. The NorCal Classic is the last IPQE of the season.
