This afternoon CrossFit announced that Alyssa Wilhelm (second from the left in the photo above) failed an in-competition drug test at the North America West Semifinal. Wilhelm, a member of CrossFit 8035, tested positive for Ostarine and metabolites of GW501516. Wilhelm is appealing the result.
CrossFit 8035 finished 12th at the North America West Semifinal the last weekend in May. Wilhelm was joined by teammates Dylan Martin, Autumn Flickinger and Kyle Peterson. It appears that Peterson and Wilhelm are engaged.
The failed drug test is the second coming from in-competition testing at Semifinals. Last month we reported that a team member from Africa’s qualifying team, Angelique Connoway, tested positive for GW501516 and received a 4-year sanction.
Wilhelm has competed on CrossFit 8035’s team three times since 2018 where they placed 8th at the Central Regional. She was also on CrossFit 8035’s team the past two seasons at Semifinals where they finished 11th at the 2022 Granite Games and then 12th at the North America West Semifinal this year.
Wilhelm has appealed the finding and is currently awaiting to hear back from CrossFit However, it does appears that Wilhelm has deactivated her Instagram account.
