The 2023 CrossFit Semifinals are a month away, but CrossFit is already looking for cities to host future Semifinal competitions the next three years.
In a statement released by CrossFit this afternoon, CrossFit has opened an RFP, short for Request for Proposal, process to determine the locations of the North American East, North American West and Europe Semifinals for 2024, 2025 and 2026.
Cities interested in hosting a Semifinal must submit a Letter of Interest by Friday, May 26, 2023, followed by a full proposal submitted by June 30, 2023. CrossFit, however, will not commit to a deadline on determining which cities will host a future Semifinal competition. With that said, the RFP does state CrossFit “will communicate with all parties on or before September 15, 2023, after which point finalists will begin term sheet negotiations.”
The RFP does share thoughts on the dates of next year’s Semifinals as they could move up one week beginning on May 9. Right now CrossFit is evaluating a four-week window in which the Semifinals will be hosted three consecutive weekends. That means Semifinals could run from May 9 through May 26, 2024, or from May 16 through June 2, 2024.
As for what types of venues CrossFit feels would work best, the RFP indicates that hockey or basketball arenas or convention centers are preferred.
The rest of the RFP provides some basic facts about the CrossFit Games and its season along with information CrossFit is requesting as part of an official proposal.

The RFP does not include bids for future NOBULL CrossFit Games sites. However, some applicants could be considered to host the CrossFit Games in 2025 and beyond. Madison, Wisconsin, has been host of the CrossFit Games since 2017 and will be through 2024.
In 2023, CrossFit took over the operations of the two North American and one European Semifinal. The Semifinals for Africa, Asia, Latin America and Oceania are still run by independent event organizers.
This year the North America East Semifinal will be held in Orlando, Florida. The North America West Semifinal will be in Pasadena, California, and the Europe Semifinal is hosted in Berlin, Germany.
