Last week it was announced that the 2026 CrossFit Games would be at the SAP Center in San Jose, California, from July 24-26, 2026. But in this week’s Week in Review, Dave Castro hinted that the Games might be more than three days.
And if so, those additional days would not be available for spectators to watch.
TRANSLATION: There will be events held at The Ranch at the 2026 CrossFit Games.
Castro shared this information during the Q&A of this week’s Week in Review. The question asked about when tickets would go on sale. The person, from Wales, also expressed disappointment that the Games would only be three days again.
Castro’s answer:
“Assume there’s three days in SAP Center. That’s what I’m going to say here. That does not mean the Games are three days long. What we’re saying is there will be three days of competition in the SAP Center. The Games might be three days. They also might be more than three days.
“If they are more than three days, you’ll be able to watch in the SAP Center. They could be more and there could be additional days that are not available for spectators to watch. So don’t be disappointed that there are three days. You could be disappointed. I could see disappointment in you being able to only see physically three days of competition at the SAP Center. Sure, that’s fair.
“But that doesn’t mean the Games are only three days.”
Aromas, California, where Dave Castro’s Ranch is located is approximately 48 minutes from the SAP Center.
Many speculated that there could be events held at The Ranch, the birthplace of the CrossFit Games, when last week’s news broke.
Now, with Castro acknowledging that the 2026 CrossFit Games could be more than three days…some of which could not be available for spectators, it almost seems a certainty that athletes will be at The Ranch next year…probably on Thursday.
