Four Athletes Qualify for 2026 Copa Sur Semifinal via TCB

The first four athletes qualified for a 2026 CrossFit Games Semifinal this past weekend. The top two men and women from the TCB have earned an invite to the 2026 Copa Sur Semifinal.

Emily Andrade and Thays Franca finished 1st and 2nd, respectively, on the women’s side, while Bernardo Torquato Costa and Joao Pedro Barcelos were 1st and 2nd, respectively, on the men’s side. All four will now be able to compete at the 2026 Copa Sur Semifinal.

But while these four athletes will be able to compete, they must meet additional criteria to qualify for the 2026 CrossFit Games. Similar to last year, athletes looking to qualify for the CrossFit Games must compete in the 2026 CrossFit Open, finish in the top 25%, and then finish inside the top 2,000 worldwide at Quarterfinals.

There are still details that have not yet been disclosed regarding the 2026 CrossFit Games season. We don’t know the number of Semifinals or which competitions will host a Semifinal or how many athletes will qualify out of each.

However, Copa Sur does appear to be a Semifinal event along with the Northern California Classic. Over the weekend, the NorCal Classic announced the top male and female from Crash Crucible will receive an invite to compete in the 2026 event.

The 2026 CrossFit Open is February 26 to March 16. Quarterfinals are March 26-30 and Semifinals will be from April to June. Exact dates and locations to be announced shortly.
