The first online qualifier to an In-Person Qualifying Event for the 2025 CrossFit Games season ends tonight. The deadline to submit scores to the NorCal Classic’s online qualifier is tonight at midnight, Pacific Standard Time.
The NorCal Classic opened up its online qualifier on January 8, but extended the qualifier window to January 30 after the Sacramento-based competition was announced as an In-Person Qualifying Event.Â
The top 35 men and women in the online qualifier will be invited to compete at the NorCal Classic in June. Additionally, 15 at-large spots are reserved for athletes who finish in the top 1% of the CrossFit Open. In other words, the organizers will hand-pick 15 men and women to also compete for their shot at the CrossFit Games.
As the deadline approaches, more and more athletes are entering their scores. Several CrossFit Games veterans have already submitted their scores. Nick Mathew, Chris Ibarra, Sam Kwant, Matilde Garnes, Olivia Kerstetter and 2024 Teenage CrossFit Games champion Reese Littlewood are all currently on the leaderboard.
There are also plenty of previous Semifinal-level athletes among the top athletes so far.
As for the at-large invites, Justin Medeiros, Alex Gazan, Bethany Flores, Emily Rolfe, Sydney Wells and Trista Smith have already been invited and were able to skip the online qualifier.
The 2025 NorCal Classic will be June 6-8 in Sacramento, California. Along with the elite division athletes, there will a range of other divisions, including RX, Pairs, 35+ and Teens. The Sevan Podcast will live stream the event.
The top 2 men and women in the elite division will qualify for the 2025 CrossFit Games.
