If you had read Dave Castro’s book, it was very evident that he wanted a Pendleton-style obstacle course at last year’s CrossFit Games. What was built was a slower, more technical course that took the athletes longer than he was thinking when he thought of the concept.
Ultimately, Castro was happy with the outcome of the event. However, it appears Castro still wanted to get the faster, more powerful military-like obstacle course back at the Games…and he has accomplished it this year.
In Castro’s latest Instagram post, he shares several pictures of the course.

The course appears to have similar elements to that of the 2012 Pendleton O-course. There are monkey bars, a balance beam, walls to jump over and a rope climb (among others). The course is likely going to be very fast and test the athletes’ ability to move quickly while having to manage balance and agility.
If you liked last year’s O-Course, this year will likely provide even more excitement. Let’s just hope the event before this does not destroy them like it did in 2012.
