The CrossFit Games season in 2019 was unlike any we had seen before. From the elimination of Regionals to the introduction of Sanctionals and the inclusion of National Champions at the Games, it was a year of firsts for the sport of fitness.
But while changes to the sport were happening, 2019 was overshadowed by the passing of two athletes in the community. Becky Conzelman, a former Games athlete, died following a brain aneurysm in April. And just this month, 17-year-old Jacob Morris passed away after complications from heart surgery.
