What Sunday’s Schedule Looks Like

Yesterday, the CrossFit Games Event Guide app showed the framework of what the schedule looked like for Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Today, the app was updated and now includes events for Sunday. Based on earlier reports, Sunday morning appears to include some sort of water event and the schedule looks to confirm that.

The schedule does not indicate which divisions are competing when, but knowing that the individuals and teams will not overlap their schedule, we think we have a good idea of what to expect.

Let’s take a look…

Morning Events

The first event begins at 10:00 on Sunday morning. The schedule indicates it is at North Park and lasts almost two hours until 11:55.

The next event on the schedule is also in North Park and runs from 12:14 to 2:25.

Our guess is that with a paired down field, likely just 10 men, 10 women and 5 teams at

this point, Dave Castro is going to combine all of the athletes into one big event. Could it be a triathlon? Does it start in North Park or does it finish in North Park? If it’s a triathlon it could start at Lake Monona. Two hours would give them enough time for a sprint triathlon.

If Castro groups the individuals and teams in the first event Sunday morning, then the second two-hour block is likely for the Teens and Masters. The time domain is a little longer, which would make sense for the age group divisions. Could they do the same event Sunday afternoon?

Early Afternoon Events

If we are right and the age group divisions wrap up in North Park at 2:25, they are in the right place for the start of the age group awards ceremony at 2:30…in North Park. That would mean the two-hour event would be the only event for the Teens and Masters on Sunday.

During that second two-hour block, there are two 30-minute events inside the Coliseum beginning at 1:00. This is likely another event for the individuals.

Late Afternoon Events / Final Events

Then at 2:45 there is an event, also in the Coliseum, that is for 25 minutes. This would be a good spot for the final team event. With just five teams on the floor, expect a longer time domain for the final event.

And at 3:30 in the Coliseum, it is what everyone is waiting for…the individual final events. From 3:30 to 3:45 and 4:00 to 4:15, the 15-minute events are perfect for a 10-ish minute finale to crown the Fittest on Earth (check out our top 10 picks).

From there, the awards ceremony will wrap up the weekend in the Coliseum.

Based on all of this, we expect the age group divisions to face just one long event on Sunday. The teams will likely have a long event in the morning with the finale in the Coliseum that afternoon. And the individuals will have three events, just like the past two years in Madison.
