Jelle Hoste’s 2026 Plan: Wrist Surgery then WFP Season

Jelle Hoste has announced his plans for the 2026 season. And similar to last year his primary focus will be centered around the World Fitness Project. However, before that season starts he will need to rehab from wrist surgery that is scheduled for next week.

Hoste did not compete in the CrossFit Games season last year following the death of Lazar Đukić at the 2024 CrossFit Games. “When accountability is blatantly avoided and transparency outright dismissed, trust is broken. This year, I’m standing by my principles and choosing a different path,” Hoste shared last February when he announced he would not participate in the CrossFit Open.

And that will be the case again this year.

Instead Hoste competed in the World Fitness Project where he was one of the inaugural Pro athletes in the start-up league. Hoste finished 13th overall in the 2025 WFP season, thereby retaining his Pro Card for the 2026 season.

And with that achievement, he will remain focused on the WFP season again in 2026.

Next week, however, Hoste will undergo wrist surgery. Hoste has been dealing with a stress fracture in his wrist since last April. He competed throughout the 2025 WFP season despite this injury, albeit impacting his performance when certain movements came up. That was particularly noticeable when 30kg (66 pounds) during the 1RM Snatch event at the WFP Finals in December.

Hoste will look to rehab his wrist over the next several months to get ready for Tour Stop 1 in May.

Prior to that, however, he will compete in the HYROX Doubles Pro division in Belgium this March.
