Seher Kaya Retires from Competing

Seher Kaya competed at the CrossFit Games three times in her career, from 2022 through 2024. Her best finish was in 2024 where she placed 21st overall. After not qualifying for the CrossFit Games in 2025, Kaya announced over the weekend that she has decided to retire from competing.

“It has taken me some time to make this post, but I wanted to be sure I was ready to share it when the time felt right for me. As many of you may already noticed, I’ve made the decision to not continue competing [in] CrossFit,” Kaya shared on a recent Instagram post.

She continued, “I know this decision may come as a surprise to some, but believe me, it was not an easy one. Still, I can honestly say that this decision feels right in my heart.

“With that being said – fitness will always somehow be a part of my life.

“From the bottom of my heart, thank you for sharing this journey with me. I am forever grateful for everyone that supported me and every moment I have had the last few years. I am SO proud of this chapter of my life and grateful for everything it has taught me.

“All love.”

In 2025, Kaya finished in 943rd, just narrowly within the top 1% cutline to advance to the later stages of the season. However, she would place 22nd in the In-Affiliate Semifinals and 4th at the Far East Throwdown. Both competitions she failed to qualify for the 2025 CrossFit Games.
