Leave Your Cameras at Home, CrossFit Changes Photography Regulations for Regionals and Games

Up until 2017, spectators at CrossFit Regional events and the CrossFit Games were permitted to bring non-professional photography and video equipment. Handheld equipment was limited to interchangeable lenses less than five inches long. Monopods, tripods, etc were not permitted.

However, the 2017 CrossFit Games Competition Rulebook has amended Appendix C (page 23), which outlines the camera and video equipment policy at CrossFit events. In 2017, only cell phones and tablets with camera and video recording capabilities are permitted. Any non-cellphone devices such as SLR, DSLR, compact cameras, GoPro and selfie sticks are now NOT permitted. These items will be confiscated by CrossFit Games staff.
