The 2025 TYR Cup is back after its debut last year. Team North America is taking on Team World at TYR Wodapalooza SoCal this September 19-21. The teams will take on 11 events with varying formats throughout the three-day competition. The final event of the weekend is the Captain match, which makes it important for who is selected as the captains for each team.

Team North America’s captains are Pat Vellner and Danielle Brandon, a repeat of last year’s fan vote.
Team World’s captains are Tia-Clair Toomey-Orr and Ricky Garard. Toomey-Orr was a captain last year alongside Bjorgvin Karl Gudmundsson. However, this year with BKG out, Garard was voted in on the men’s side.
The captain duos could decide the fate of the teams come Sunday afternoon on Huntington Beach.
