2026 CrossFit Games ‘Big Picture Plan’ to be Announced Next Week

In an email sent to TYR Cup athletes, Dave Castro shared that the 2026 CrossFit Games “big picture plan” will be announced next week. Following that announcement, the CrossFit Games team will be meeting with athletes to gather feedback and share more details.

It is unclear how much information about the upcoming year will be shared, but it appears we will know the overall season structure and likely timing of the various stages of competition.

Then on Thursday night, Dave Castro and team will be meeting with those planning to compete in the 2026 CrossFit Games season to share more details, gather feedback from the athletes and answer any questions from the announcement.

We already know that the 2026 CrossFit Open will be the same three weeks as it was the past two years. In 2026, the Open will run from Thursday, February 26 through Monday, March 16.

And if you want to believe my thoughts on Dave Castro’s recent Instagram stories, the 2026 CrossFit Games could be held in San Francisco, California, at the Chase Center.

With the news coming out next week, it will likely be the earliest CrossFit has ever announced how an upcoming season will work. Last year we did not have the full scope of the season until January. And even then, details about the Last Chance Qualifier were not revealed until much later.

Stay tuned…
