CrossFit has released the official list of athletes who received a region exemption for the 2024 CrossFit Games season. In total, 35 athletes had their request approved to compete in a different region than their country of citizenship.
We have already reported on the two most notable names receiving a region exemption – Tia-Clair Toomey-Orr and Roman Khrennikov. Additionally, Katrin Davidsdottir has also received a region exemption request for the second consecutive year.
Of the 35 exemptions, 16 were for athletes making Asia their competitive region this year. North America East had the second most exemptions with seven. No athletes had their region approved to compete out of Africa.

CrossFit did not publish the number of region exemption applications it received. However, the most notable athlete to have her request denied was Ellie Turner. We covered that story back in January. Turner will once again compete out of the Oceania region.
