CrossFit Team Semifinals Leaderboard Locked; Zero Penalties Assessed

The leaderboard for the CrossFit Team In-Affiliate Semifinals has been locked just five days following the close of the score submission window. Unlike previous years, however, there were zero scoring adjustments during the review process.

Technically, it appears that a team, CrossFit Advantage, had its scores added after the leaderboard populated on Sunday night (not sure why). CrossFit Advantage sits in 62nd place overall, well outside the top 20 cutline. However, there scores did have a minor impact to the leaderboard.

Was this because there were no bad reps or was it something else?

According to the 2025 CrossFit Games rulebook, “Team scores will be valid at the close of competition. CrossFit may request videos for review at its discretion. It is recommended that teams aspiring to qualify for the CrossFit Games have videos available should CrossFit request to review a score.”

It does appears that CrossFit did ask for some teams to send in proof of their 800-meter course for Workout 4. It is unclear how many teams were asked though.

As for video review of other workouts, it is unclear if CrossFit reviewed anything. In an Instagram post by Andrew Hiller (see below), CrossFit Le Repere Mayhem can be seen doing Workout 2 where one team member appears to not be hitting depth on the dumbbell thrusters.

CrossFit Le Repere Mayhem had the 3rd fastest time in the world on Workout 2. Their time remains unchanged from what was submitted on Sunday night.

And now with the leaderboard finalized, CrossFit Le Repere Mayhem, who is 4th overall, is headed to the CrossFit Games.

CrossFit Hendersonville Mayhem is the first team out in 21st place worldwide, just one point behind 8th Day CrossFit.

Do you remember Workout 4 of last year’s Individual Quarterfinals?

AMRAP in 10 minutes:

10 Clean and Jerks (135/85 lb)
1 minute Rest

10 Clean and Jerks (185/125 lb)
1 minute Rest

10 Clean and Jerks (225/155 lb)
1 minute Rest

Then, in remaining time:
Max reps Clean and Jerks (245/165 lb)

In that, an athlete’s score was the total reps completed in the 10 minutes. However, some athletes input their score based on the number of max reps at the highest weight. CrossFit ended up going into the system and adjusting the scores to reflect the correct number of reps.

A similar thing happened to CrossFit Hendersonville Mayhem this year. However, this year CrossFit did not make the adjustment.

On Workout 3, the judge for CrossFit Hendersonville Mayhem miscounted the team’s wall balls. Because of this, they did two extra reps.

The score posted was 15:15. However, the time was 15:11 if you stop the clock when the correct number of wall balls were completed.

Dalton Rodgers, CrossFit Hendersonville Mayhem’s team captain, emailed CrossFit about the situation. CrossFit responded by saying no teams have had any scoring adjustments and there won’t be an exception.

Andrew Hiller touched on the subject this morning. After all the penalties with the box step-ups last year, many questioned why you have judges if CrossFit comes in behind them and starts no repping a bunch of athletes during the video review.

Now, when there are no penalties, some are upset that CrossFit isn’t doing its job.

So what should CrossFit’s role be in the validation of a leaderboard for an online qualifier? Should they conduct video reviews? Should they have made an adjustment to correct CrossFit Hendersonville Mayhem’s score?
