Sam Briggs fractured her right elbow and ruptured her medial ligament last Monday. While that would end the season for almost everyone, Briggs wrapped up her elbow and did all four of the CrossFit Age Group Online Qualifier (AGOQ) workouts!
Not only did Briggs finish all of the workouts, Briggs finished 2nd place overall in the 35-39 Masters division, thereby earning her a ticket to the CrossFit Games.
The bad news, however, is that Briggs had to withdraw from the individual competition and give up her spot at the European Regionals. Briggs has made it to the CrossFit Games six times, winning it once in 2013.
Briggs has already undergone surgery to clean up her elbow. The quick surgery now give Briggs the ability to recover with the intention of competing as a Masters athlete at the CrossFit Games this August in Madison, Wisconsin.
Briggs shared the news on her Instagram story and then followed it up via an official post.
