Dave Castro and CrossFit have announced that swimming will return to the 2026 CrossFit Games. Two years after tragedy struck in Ft. Worth, athletes will be getting back into the water in San Jose. This year, however, it will be in a pool.
The announcement also included a new partner to the CrossFit Games. The swim event will be presented by TYR Sport, the Official Swim Partner of the CrossFit Games.
While details of the event or the location were not officially announced, it will most likely be on Wednesday while the athletes are at the Morgan Hill Outdoor Sport Center. This is where the swim event was held at the 2020 CrossFit Games.
HISTORY OF SWIM EVENTS IN THE POOL
Swimming made its debut at the CrossFit Games in 2011 where athletes took on a 210-meter ocean swim. Since then, swimming has taken place in the ocean, Lake Monona in Madison and Marine Creek Lake in Ft. Worth. And then there have been three events held in a pool – 2013, 2020 and 2022.

2026???
So what will we see in 2026? Could we see a repeat of one of the events above or will it be something entirely new?
