Taylor Self Goes Sub-8:00 to Win Workout 3 in Taylor Self vs The World

After falling just one rep short of Dallin Pepper and Colten Mertens on Workout 4 of the 2024 CrossFit Quarterfinals, Taylor Self stepped up big time this afternoon when they took on Workout 3.

Self and Mertens took the floor for the second heat after Jayson Hopper and Dallin Pepper gave the gymnastics-based workout a shot at CrossFit Crash. Hopper set the time to beat of 8:20, but Self did not need a full eight minutes to complete the handstand push-up, toes-to-bar, rope climb and ring muscle-up workout.

Self finished in 7:59, beating Hopper by 21 seconds. Colten took 3rd in the group with a time of 9:18 and Pepper rounded out the group in 9:32.

2) Dallin Pepper – 5
3) Colten Mertens – 5
4) Jayson Hopper – 6

On the women’s side, Fee Saghafi finished the workout in 9:13 while Lindsey Lane struggled on the ring muscle-ups, finishing in 13:30.

Saghafi has won both workouts today and is that much closer to taking home the $1,000 prize in the women’s competition.
